The design for this house explores domestic life through the physical interaction of materially and structurally contrasting figures; one exhibits massiveness and the other lightness.

The massive central core is a heavy solid volume which shapes the living space of the house - only lit by a Palladian oculus - and the rest of the house wraps around the core and rests delicately on the massive base. The light steel frame allows the lighter volume to be registered as a solid figure to juxtapose the central mass.

Although the contrast is stark in material, the relationship between the two bodies is made
ambiguous as access - visual and circulatory - is restricted. Each figure can only feel the other.
